A 10-day trip focusing on or built around the Masai Mara offers an exceptional window of time. Because spending 10 full days exclusively inside the Masai Mara National Reserve is rare (as you can comprehensively explore it in 3 to 4 days), travelers usually choose between two options for a 10-day itinerary:

1. The Classic Kenya Wildlife Circuit (Multi-Park): Combines the Masai Mara with other iconic parks like Amboseli and the Great Rift Valley lakes.
2. The Ultra-Immersive Mara Experience (In-Depth): Spends the entire time in the Mara region, dividing days between the main national reserve and surrounding private conservancies.

Option 1: The Classic 10-Day Kenya Wildlife Circuit

Best for: First-time visitors who want to see a diverse range of landscapes, immense elephant herds against Mt. Kilimanjaro, and the best of Kenya’s wildlife.

• Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
• Land at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NJKIA), transfer to your hotel, and rest. Optional visit to the Giraffe Centre or the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage if time allows.
• Days 2–3: Amboseli National Park
• Drive or take a light aircraft flight south to Amboseli. Spend these days tracking massive herds of elephants against the stunning, snow-capped backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.
• Day 4: Lake Naivasha (Great Rift Valley)
• Travel into the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy an afternoon boat safari on Lake Naivasha to see hippos and hundreds of bird species, followed by a walking safari among giraffes and zebras on Crescent Island.
• Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park
