According to the report, travel has officially become a “non-negotiable” priority for younger demographics, showing that:
The “Non-Negotiable” Expense: 74% of Millennials and Gen Z surveyed state they view travel as an essential expense, with 40% planning to spend even more on trips this year than last.
Workplace Flexibility over Benefits: 64% would willingly take a job with fewer traditional benefits if it guaranteed them more flexibility to travel.
The Snack-Cation: Rather than major sit-down dinners, 89% of younger travelers are prioritizing “snack itineraries,” seeking out street food (69%), local bakeries (53%), and grocery stores (50%) to experience local flavor.
Unconventional Lodging: 91% want to book highly unique accommodations, with luxury rail travel (45%) and converted historic spaces (37%) topping their wishlists.
